Flaxseed Oil
The discovery in 1985 that our entire population was deficient in Omega-3 fats, one of the two essential fatty acids, led to the world wide search for the richest source of Omega-3 - Flaxseed oil.
Supplies of Organic Flaxseed Oil are sourced from Four Leaf Oils at Tarlee, South Australia. This facility produces organic oils by cold process (less than 35°C) in the absence of air and light. The freshly pressed oils are transported to Melrose for bottling under nitrogen in light opaque tanks.
Flaxseed Oil is the richest source of Omega-3 fatty acids with 60%, whilst oils such as Cod Liver Oil and Fish Oil contain between 20 and 30% Omega 3.
The other essential fatty acid is Omega-6 which is present in most vegetable oils. Examples include Sunflower and Safflower Oils. There is no shortage of Omega 6 in the modern diet. Our bodies cannot survive without these essential fatty acids.
